“Guo Guan· Run Yuan” academic forum, sponsored by the Graduate School of University of International Relations (UIR) and undertaken by the Graduate Students Union of UIR, is an academic forum designed mainly for graduate students, aiming to provide a platform to show academic achievements and to exchange academic experiences for graduate students majoring in related disciplines in universities from home and abroad. This forum has been successfully held for six times since it was founded in 2012. In May, 2018, the seventh “Guo Guan·Run Yuan” academic forum will be held in UIR. The theme is “International Security Governance and Community of Human Destiny”. There will be five sub-forums, for international politics and laws, international economics, international language and culture, network information technology and national security.
The forum’s hereby calls for paper from undergraduates and postgraduates students in universities and research institutions from home and abroad. The organizing committee will create a panel of experts to a review and select the papers. Then the authors of the selected papers will be invited to attend this forum and a special discussion on the themes of different sub-forums. We will also print the awarded papers in a collection and recommend them to relevant journals.
The details of the call are as follows.
1. The theme of the forum
The overall theme is “International Security Governance and Community of Human Destiny”.
The theme for international politics and laws sub-forum is to build a new type of international relations from the perspective of community of human destiny.
The theme for international economics sub-forum is to discuss economic globalization and international economic security governance.
The theme for international language and culture sub-forum is to discuss the community of human destiny from a cultural perspective.
The theme for network information technology sub-forum is to discuss network security governance and community of human destiny.
The theme for national security sub-forum is to discuss national security in Xi Jinping’s new era.
The contributor is free to write his/her paper according to the above themes. You may refer to “The Background Introduction of the Theme of the Seventh “Guo Guan·Run Yuan”Academic Forum in UIR” (Appendix 1) for further information.
2. Contributors
All undergraduates and postgraduates in universities or research institutions from home and abroad are welcome to submit papers.
Requirements of the paper
(1) The paper must be based on one of the five sub-forum themes, with a title of the author’s own choice. In addition, the paper should be original, carry academic value, and has not been published in any publication.
(2) The word limit is between 6000-8000.
(3) About the format specifications of the paper, please refer to “The Format Specifications for the Paper of the Seventh “Guo Guan·Run Yuan”Academic Forum in UIR” (Appendix 2).The forum’s organizing committee will disqualify papers which A)have a similarity of over 20% with other papers; B) have unclear or inaccurate notes and references; C) have serious format or other areas that affect reading and judgment.
4. Deadline and Contribution
(1) The deadline for contribution is April 12,2018.
(2) The paper should be submitted through email to uirxueshubu@163.com.
(3) The name of the email should be: “ Contribution +**sub-forum +School+
Author Name+ Paper Title”. The paper should be a WORD file submitted in an attachment, conforming to “The Registration Form for Call for Papers of the Seventh “Guo Guan·Run Yuan” Academic Forum in UIR” (Appendix 3),” and the filename of the WORD document should be “**sub-forum+Author Name”.
5. Awards
(1) The first prize: RMB 1500
Five papers will win the first prize, one from each sub-forum..
The second prize: RMB 1000
Ten papers win the second prize, two from each sub-forum.
The third prize: RMB 500
Ten papers win the third prize, two from each sub-forum.
A number of papers will be awarded a certificate of excellence.
The prize-winning essays will be printed in a collection and offered chances for publication.
